The GIC is organizing a tour to Chungsando in Wando County, one of Korea's 5 Slow Cities. Chungsan Island, a remote yet beautiful island of Wando County, South Jeolla Province, with a population of under 3,000, which implemented an environmental policy to preserve its historical buildings and the support of organic food are the reasons why the island was designated as a Cittaslow by the Cittaslow Committee. The word "Chungsando'' literally means a smiling mountain in green. It takes 50 minutes to get there from Wando Port, and as soon as tourists step onto the island, they can find a unique scene of barley fields, the crystal clear ocean and ancient stone walls.
