Tim Whitman -- a good friend of Michael's -- spoke today with Michael Simning's wife Young-mi, anddddddddddd...
ENOUGH B- DONORS HAVE BEEN FOUND FOR NOW!!!!!!!!! WOOT-WOOT! ^____^
As word spread through both the foreign and Korean communiti...es more and more responses came in! In fact, both communities responses have been referred to as 'overwhelming,' which as far as I am concerned is a wonderful, wonderful thing!
If it's possible, we still hope you'll consider checking your blood type -- in case similar events arise in the future -- and if you do discover your blood type is B- and you are not restricted from sharing it with others (see http://roboseyo.blogspot.c
PLEASE NOTE: In Michael's case, ONLY eligible B- blood donors need get in touch! B+ will not work, O- will not work, nor ill any other blood type. Under other circumstances, other blood types might work, but in Michael's case, only B- will. There are reasons for this which are too lengthy to get into here, and frankly speaking, I don't think I quite understand them all myself, but suffice it to say, only B- folks need get in touch.
And this is also from Tim, via Michael's wife: "Mike seems to be doing better, he is eating more, and with enough donors, we will have him covered for the foreseeable future. Thank you so much."
And from Mike himself: "Everyone has been a huge help. Thanks for all the support so far. I'm fairly incoherent most of the time due the chemotherapy. I spend most of my time sleeping and designing sandwiches in my mind."
Nancy Harcar is making a large Get Well Card which will eventually be delivered to Michael at the hospital. If you're able, please stop by the Underground Grocers to write a short note and let Michael know you're thinkng of him.
A fundraising event is in the works and a bank account has been set up for friends and family wanting to donate money to Michael and his family. More details will follow. ^^
